Kalank Star Varun Dhawan Feeling The Heat, Courtesy Avengers: Endgame?
Varun Dhawan says that they want to make as much money as possible on his upcoming film Kalank, before Avengers: Endgame arrives at the box-office
Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt starrer Kalank will hit the theatres on April 17, followed by Avengers: Endgame which will release on April 26. While both Kalank and Avengers have their own fan bases, Varun stated that they want to earn maximum amount of money before the action thriller (Avengers: Endgame) hits the theatres.
During the promotional interview with Mumbai Mirror, the Judwaa 2 actor was asked about the nine-day run before Avengers: Endgame releases. He told the leading tabloid, “We are releasing at a time when there is constant flow of films, both before and after. But today, there are enough screens to accommodate two big films and hopefully, we will get some shows in the second week too when Avengers arrives. It has a run-time of three hour and three minutes, ours is much shorter, so that will help us get some shows. That aside, April 17 is a partial holiday and we would benefit from it. We want to make as much money as possible before Avengers arrives.”
Yesterday, SpotboyE.com reported about PVR Phoenix in Lower Parel, undergoing renovation and reopening with the Hollywood biggie. Apart from Kalank, Varun will next be seen in the remake of Coolie No 1 alongside Sara Ali Khan.
When asked about working with his father again, junior Dhawan said, “I’m dying to do a comedy again and this one has lots of dance. With dad, it’s going to be exactly the way it was during Main Tera Hero and Judwaa 2. He will kick my ass on the set. But I plan to start learning my dialogue right away as the journey ahead will be challenging.”
Talking about the profession of coolies, he said, “I think it’s still an active profession at railway stations. We did a lot of research before deciding to make the film. The original screenplay was outstanding, so is this one. Our film is not a remake but an adaptation with the same title.”
Coming back to Kalank and Avengers: Endgame, we think both movies have enough breathing space to do well at the box-office. Your thoughts?
